I play a lot and sometimes I just don't want to hang my heavier guitars around my neck. It's cool to have this around when I'm just warming up during the day or a long session of writing and playing. It's a relief to your shoulder and neck.

I first bought one of these two years ago -- that one was cherry red -- and gave it to our granddaughter and her husband for Christmas. Needless to say, it was such a buy that this year I bought one for myself. I also have other guitars, one of which is an Epiphone 339. It has coil; splitting, which the newer ones (2 years) don't have, but this little puppy appeals to the minimalist in me!

Like the combination. Haven't had to change the strings yet, I've had it about 10 months. Although I do have back set of strings. Easy to tune when it dose go out of tune. It usually goes out of tune ever so slightly if it does out of tune.Long & McQuade was very helpful when I was in the store looking at electric guitars. Thank you Long & McQuade.

This is a great guitar overall, it's just the lack of pickups that makes it a 4.5 for me. It feels great and sounds pretty decent. It would be a good guitar to buy and fool around with.

I have owned my Epiphone Les Paul SL for almost a year now, and I must say it is one of the best investments I could have made. I was looking to transition from acoustic guitar to my first electric, and this guitar has made it so easy! After making a few small changes to the factory model (changing strings, truss rod adjustment, etc) this guitar plays super easily, sounds great, and it is also extremely lightweight which is a huge bonus! It's not super fancy or overly complicated which is why I would recommend this model to beginners and those who want to try playing electric guitar without dropping too much money on a decent guitar! SHOUTOUT to everyone at L&M Oshawa for being so helpful and just overall awesome!

For those of you old enough to remember the late 50s, early sixties Gibson made a student guitar called a Melody Maker. This is very much like that guitar. Not to wax nostalgic but a guitarist in my band played a Melody Maker, not the easiest guitar to play. By comparison this is an easy playing guitar after making a few tweaks ie adjust string height, smooth the fret edges, adjust relief and set intonation. Voila, a nice playing guitar. Makes for a sweet playing guitar. Was a really good price as well.

Picked this up last week. Out of the box it was actually in tune. The neck was dead straight. The intonation was quite accurate for a wrap around bridge. The fret ends didn't have any sprout but they were a tad sharp. The neck was nice and tight in the pocket. The action was quite low but certainly playable. The finish is satin as is the back of the neck which makes for easy playing. The guitar is not as yellow as the pic shows. I have addressed all the outstanding issues (which are minor) and now it plays exceptionally well. The pickups are really ok, certainly for the style of music I play (classic rock-think Leslie West and early Clapton). Overall, I am really enjoying this guitar. I had a Gibson LP junior and I didn't care for the glossy finish and the sticky neck. Just can,t beat the price either. I started playing guitar at the age of 15. I'm now 68. Owned too many guitars to list, some good some not but this has been a really nice surprise.

This is currently my favourite design, the Les Paul. I have a $540 Les Paul studio and of course I am not on the market. But, I tried this and it sounded like a $300 dollar guitar! I absolutely love the feel, it's polished nicely, the strings are a bit thin to start off with, but overall it's an amazing, grooving guitar. If I could get another guitar, this would be it. EPIPHONE I LOVE YOU!!

This guitar is AMAZING for the money. Sure, the pickups aren't the best and neither are the electronics. The solid bare bones are there though - great neck, no sharp fret ends, nice level even frets that have no buzz anywhere on the fretboard with 5/64" action height, and a comfortable gloss finish. The 14:1 trapezoid tuners are surprisingly tight and turn nicely with no play, but they will wear out over time. Intonation can be almost perfect if you're patient and adjust the bridge posts properly. The gloss finish on this guitar (gloss is only on the yellow, turqoise, and pacific blue - the others have a rustic satin finish) is very good, with no obvious flaws. Is this a high end guitar? No. Is this a great platform for mods with better pickups, tuners, and electronics? Absolutely. I'm 42 years old, I started playing guitar in about 1993. Were there guitars this good back then for under $300 1993 dollars? No way. I wish there would have been.

I tried this guitar in the store and it was actually pretty good for $140. It felt pretty good to play on, and it was nice a light. Sound wasn't too bad. The sustain of the guitar isn't the greatest but not horrible.. my major complaint would be that it's really noisy. It hums way too loud and it's kinda annoying. I can tell this guitar would also break easily if dropped or anything. Will definitely scratch easily tooOverall this guitar is pretty good for what you pay for. It looks cool, and feels right. Pickups are bad
