Fifty Whole30 Compliant Recipes for Your New Year! (1)

For those of you who are, like me, completely burned out on sugar, carbs, and Christmas (despite your husband’s insistence on continuing to listen to Christmas music even days after the holiday is over) – it’s time for a reset. I finished up a round of Whole30 back in September that made me feel amazing. Though I haven’t shown you before and after photos, I can tell you the difference was astounding. I wasn’t a believer until I saw it. But after our two week vacation where I never ate anything resembling a vegetable, and then got smacked up side the head with the holidays, it’s time.

Grab all of these 50 recipes to help you make your new year’s resolutions a success. And be sure to check out my 10 Things That Will Make Whole30 Bearable so you can get the basics down ahead of time! So many of these are great to prepare ahead of time and eat through the week just to make sure you stay on track. You can make this a success, I know it!

Tag me in your instagrams, insta-stories, or tweets or snaps as you go through the process. Let’s build a support system out of this and rock this month. Even if we want to kill someone for eating a brownie in front of us. 😉 Or especially so we don’t kill anyone eating a brownie in front of us.

The Homesick Texan Brisket is not Whole30 compliant. It has both molasses and sour cream in it.

    • Megan

I’m sorry, it meant to include a note to omit the molasses and not use the sour cream sauce. It does now.

FAQs

What is the Whole30 challenge for weight loss? ›

The Whole30 diet is a strict 30-day elimination diet that many people turn to for weight loss or help with digestive concerns. The program encourages you to cut out alcohol, sugar, grains, legumes, dairy, and additives from your diet for 30 days. It is advertised as a total lifestyle change, rather than a simple diet.

What are the hardest days on Whole30? ›

On Days 10 and 11, you are statistically the most likely to quit your Whole30. (That's why they're “the hardest days.”) By this point, the newness of the program has worn off, and though you've made it through most of the unpleasant physical milestones, you've yet to experience significant benefits.

Can you eat potatoes on Whole30? ›

Yes, you can eat potatoes of all colors under the new Whole30 guidelines, white varieties included. Mash 'em up, roast them, or throw them in the skillet to enjoy. Just don't eat them commercially deep-fried or in packaged chip form to stay Whole30-compliant.

Why isn t peanut butter allowed on Whole30? ›

So, why no peanuts on Whole30, you might ask? The answer is this: peanuts are not actually nuts. They're beans, or legumes. No legumes are allowed on Whole30 because they contain high levels of phytates, which can potentially cause inflammation and be hard to digest.

What is a con of the Whole30 diet? ›

The cons of Whole30: Very restrictive, which may make eating out or socializing difficult. May be difficult to get adequate calcium for bone health.

Can you have oatmeal on Whole30? ›

When you're on Whole30, toast, cereal, and oatmeal won't fly. But that doesn't mean you have to eat a plate of boring scrambled eggs each and every day. These casseroles, egg cups, breakfast stacks, and more will have you looking forward to your morning meal—and full way beyond your morning commute.

Why do your pants get tighter on Whole30? ›

Sure enough, I was up 2.6lbs “overnight.” It's water retention and the beginning of the infamous “my pants are tighter” phase of Whole30 as the body continues expelling all the junk and getting used to a new way of eating. Day 8ish is usually a bit of a digestive adventure, so we'll see where things go.

What is the one bite rule on Whole30? ›

Here's the rule in a nutshell: If you think your less healthy treat is going to be so delicious, so incredible, so worth it, and then you take your first bite and discover it's not… STOP EATING.

Is it normal to poop a lot on Whole30? ›

Whole30. If you're used to eating a traditional low-fiber American diet—meaning not many fruits, veggies, and whole grains and lots of sugar and processed carbs—switching to this veggie-heavy diet may trigger diarrhea, Upton said.

What carbs can you eat on Whole30? ›

While there are no refined sugars in the Whole30 diet, there are plenty of carbs: vegetables, fruit, even nuts have them. For an entire month I happily consumed plants, protein and fat. Breakfast became coconut yogurt layered with blueberries, chia seeds and hemp hearts.

Are pickles OK on Whole30? ›

Yes, both pickles and bananas are allowed on Whole30. Yet if they are a potential trigger food for you (for instance, the sweetness of bananas sets off a craving for other treats or makes you want to binge on the fruit), then you may consider including them on your “don't eat” list.

Is Dave's Killer Bread Whole30 approved? ›

Not all of these are Whole30, but the ones with a * next to it, are! Dave's Killer Bread — Although this bread is not gluten-free, it is a great clean bread that tastes fantastic!

Why are there no beans on Whole30? ›

Whole30 doesn't allow beans based on the idea that they contain "anti-nutrients" like phytates. Phytates are compounds found in plants that can potentially block the body's absorption of important minerals like magnesium, iron, and calcium.

Can you eat hummus on Whole30? ›

Whole30 bans legumes like chickpeas. Still, you can whip up a tasty chickpea-free hummus using avocados, cooked cauliflower, and a few other healthy ingredients. Try out this avocado hummus recipe and pair it with bell peppers or any other crunchy, non-starchy vegetable of your choice.

What coffee creamer is Whole30 compliant? ›
